The good thing about the no.8 shirt however is that the bar has been set so low any new no.8 just needs to break into a jog once in a while and hey've already out-performed Anderson.

If England win the tournament with Rice in the team, I would unretire number 6 just for him.
Soucek can be 8. And Coufal 2, as it looks like Reid won't play for us again.

Have a feeling Rice will keep 41 for a while. Can't remember if this was mentioned in an interview or I'm just guessing, but think it's something (despite being a terrible number) he'd like to make his own.

28 is a cool number.
It is probably the only number (and certainly the only number which will fit on a football shirt and still be visible) which is the sum of consecutive numbers starting with 1, consecutive primes starting with 2, and consecutive non-primes starting with 1.
1+2+3+4+5+6+7;
